Novel GroupWise is a powerful digital communication and organizational tool used by many corporations, organizations, agencies, and educational institutions all over the world. With our new GroupWise system you will be able to send e-mail to a group, manage your messages in folders, use an online calendar and checklist, access online storage via Net Storage and more! A new tutorial will be released weekly detailing each of the Novel GroupWise functions—look for the first tutorial in your school mailbox today!

Below are important questions and answers you may have regarding the transition to GroupWise E-mail.

What date will the Novell GroupWise transition occur?

March 7th

Will my username and password be the same?

Your username will remain the same but your password has been changed. Your system administrator will inform you of your new password.

Will my e-mail address change?

No, your e-mail address will remain the same.

Do I need to inform my e-mail contacts of any changes?

No, you need not inform your e-mail contacts of any change. The transition should appear seamless and transparent to users.

Can I change my password?

Eventually we will allow users to select their own password, but for now please use your assigned password.

Can I still use the old Squirrel e-mail system after the transition to Novell GroupWise?

No, from March 7th onward only use GroupWise to send and receive e-mail. However, please note that the Squirrel e-mail system will remain up for reference purposes and for you to manually transfer important information until sometime in April.

Will my old Squirrel e-mail, personal folders, contacts, and address book appear in the new Novell GroupWise system?

No, we will not automatically transfer your old e-mail, contacts, personal folders or address book to the new system, however read below for several options available for manually transferring important information from Squirrel Mail to GroupWise.

How can I transfer information from Squirrel e-mail to GroupWise?

There are several options… For E-mail Addresses: You simply copy and paste e-mail addresses from Squirrel Mail into your personal address book in GroupWise.

For important E-mail Messages: You can forward important e-mail to yourself from Squirrel Mail to GroupWise using the following format: Your username@lenoxpublicshools.org

Using the above forwarding address in the address field will forward a particular e-mail message from the old system to the new GroupWise system.

How will I know how to send attachments, create group mailing lists, or use the calendar, checklist or Net Storage functions?

Look for a weekly tutorial explaining the above functions in your school mail box.
