MEMORIAL MIDDLE SCHOOL PTO UPDATE
December 2007
A new slate of officers
is in place for the current academic year.
LM and KT are co-presidents, NG is secretary, and NS is treasurer. To speak with any of the officers, feel free
to call, or come to any of our monthly meetings. You can also leave a note in
the school’s main office in the PTO mail box. Our meetings are usually held on
the second Wednesday of every month at 7pm in the Middle School room 8. The next meeting is December 12th.
The Lenox Memorial Middle
School PTO is off to a great start! So far this year, we have:

Provided school assignment agendas to 7th
and 8th grade students,

Funded the “Make Your Own Sundae” summer
reading social,
3
Created and distributed the Middle School
Student/Family Directory,
4
Sponsored the 6th grade "Parent
Forum,"
5
Funded scholarships for the 6th grade
trip to Nature's Classroom,
6
Sponsored the bus which transported 7th
grade students on their field trip to Mt. Greylock, and

Supplied beverages and snacks for the
first middle school dance.
Fundraising. Our
Berkshire Grown fundraiser is underway! The PTO is pleased to once again
support our local businesses by offering these delicious and healthy products
and we thank CW for coordinating this fundraiser.
PTO
Breakfast. On November 5th, the middle and high school
teachers, administrators and staff, joined the PTO for coffee and conversation.
A delicious breakfast was enjoyed by all and we discussed our Berkshire Grown
fundraiser, as well as our continued mission to enhance and support the
academic and social environment of our middle school students. We extend a
special thanks to MLN, MM, BK, DD, teachers, administrators, Berkshire Bagel
and all the other behind the scenes local businesses who came together to make
this breakfast a success. We look forward to a great year of working together!
Middle
School “Night Out." For the past two years, the PTO created a “Night Out” for
each of the middle school grades. These events provide a wonderful opportunity
for the kids to socialize outside school and school related activities. We are
now planning nights out for this year, and currently have volunteers to
coordinate each of the grades. We will ask the kids to provide us with more of
their great ideas for fun activities, but we need your help in chaperoning the
events. If you would like to help with these events, please contact a PTO
officer or leave a note in the PTO mail box in the main office.
Talent
Show. Our third annual Middle School Talent show will be held in
March. This will be organized by our very own middle school teachers RS and KT.
They will appreciate parent input and support.
Back To School Night. We
would like to thank all the parents who stopped by the PTO table during Back To
School Night and signed up to volunteer to provide refreshments for or help
with PTO events. So please get involved now, we appreciate any help you'd
like to offer. Also, if you
