Treasurer’s report was approved.

DISCUSSION

Spring Fundraiser- The attendance at the Harlem Rockets game was about 260 and the PTO netted $544.26. Although the turn out was not as great as we had hoped, everybody had a great time. NG will send thank you notes to all people who played in or helped with the fundraiser.

Eighth Grade Graduation Dance- The eighth grade dance will be held on 6/20. Refreshments are needed for the dance so the PTO will donate the soft drinks and candy left over from the Harlem Rockets game. The PTO will also donate a cake for the event and KT will buy it.

New PTO Officers- There have been no nominations for the 2008-2009 PTO officers. KT suggested that it was better to have a teacher on the PTO as a liaison, not as an officer. A suggestion was made to make an announcement at the open house for fifth grade parents that the PTO is seeking officer nominations. LM would also like to email as many 5-7th grade parents to elicit interest. VO said she would be interested in being secretary and LM said she would consider being treasurer or secretary.

Teacher Appreciation Day- NS will buy chocolate, strawberries and coffee to leave in teachers’ lounge for teacher appreciation day. We need to ask KZ when the best day is to do it.

INFORMATIONAL UPDATE

BM would like to do a book fair next fall and she would like the PTO to help her. She does not want funds, just help. The PTO needs to clarify what type of help she is asking for.

OPEN DISCUSSION

-There were very few requests made by teachers for funds this year. KT thinks that one possible reason is that teachers cannot always make it to the PTO meetings to make requests as is mandated.

-The bylaws need to be reviewed and this will be done by LM and DD.

-There was an agreement to move the discussion about the end of year audit until the next PTO meeting.

- VO gave a short presentation on Lenoxopoly, a board game to be created as a fundraiser for the class of 2011. VO was requesting that the PTO donate some funds for a spot on the board. We voted to buy a spot for $300.
