TREASURER’S REPORT
Treasurer submitted a corrected version of the May 9th report showing an available balance of $6018.36.
DISCUSSION
Meeting was called to review the finances and bylaws of the PTO in preparation for the end of the 2006-07 and the beginning of the 2007-08 school years. Attendees reviewed all previous treasurer reports and financial backup information.
A financial audit can be done after June 30 once the final bank statement is received. Treasurer agreed to complete final report.
An inventory of PTO assets was requested to help clarify who “owns” money received from school vending machines.
One suggested change to the bylaws is to give officers 2 year, staggered terms to ensure continuity in PTO leadership from year to year.
Another suggestion was made to help boost PTO participation by asking volunteers to commit to a total of 3 hours per school year. The time can take any form such as, attending one or more meetings, chaperoning an event, baking for an event, chairing an event, and/or any combination of activities, etc. A PTO table will be set up during Back to School Night in the fall to offer sign-up opportunities.
