LMMS PTO - News & Notes
(Updated April, 2007)
For full details about these highlights and other recent PTO activities, please read our Newsletter and the Fall/Winter update.
Talent Show
The Middle School Talent Show was held on March 30th with an enthusiastic and supportive cast and audience. A variety of acts were performed including, singing, dancing, karate, juggling, acting and music. A festive after-party brought performers and audience together to celebrate a fun evening.
We would like to thank everyone who helped make this a great event. We also thank our wonderful refreshment committee and all the people who provide the terrific snacks and drinks for dances, the talent show and other events and activities.
Nature’s Classroom
The Middle School PTO provided $525 in scholarship money so that every interested 6th grader was able to participate in the recent trip to Nature’s Classroom on April 9-11. These funds were originally donated to our PTO by the Morris School PTO two years ago. We would like to thank the Morris School PTO again for their generous support!
Event Night Activities
Plans for special activities for each of the middle school grades are underway, such as the 8th grade scavenger hunt/pizza night at Cranwell to be held on April 27th, and the 7th grade night out at Berkshire West planned for early May. If you are able to help us out either by making a donation, or donating your time to chaperoning an event, that will be greatly appreciated. To find out more about what is going on and how you can help, visit us on the web. You can find us as a link on the school's website at http://www.lenoxps.org.
Seeking Nominations
It’s time to elect a new slate of officers for the 2007-08 school year. Positions to be filled are co-presidents, treasurer and secretary. Please volunteer or nominate someone to serve by emailing us at lmms-pto@lenoxps.org, by leaving a note in the main office or by calling one of the officers. New officers will be voted in at the May meeting to be held on Wed., May 9 at 7pm in the school library. Please join us!
Looking ahead
We have already started thinking about events for the next school year. A forum for incoming 6th grade PARENTS is being planned for September to provide more detailed information about policies and other important issues. Details will follow.
We are also planning to have speakers and parent discussion groups on a variety of topics. We ask for your input on topics and issues that are important to you. Please share your ideas and interests to be included in the planning of these programs. You can email us, leave a note in the main office, or call one of the officers by phone.
