Register for the 9th Annual UNA-USA Model UN Conference!

During this time, advisors should work with students to prepare and plan for the Conference.  If you are new to Model UN, you might want to check out Model UN 101: Getting Started.

Registration Closes

Please note that registration may close before December 21, 2007 if the conference reaches its capacity. We strongly recommend that schools register early to ensure participation.

January 4, 2008

 

 

School Fees Due    NON REFUNDABLE

Schools will have the option of paying online immediately with a credit/debit card or mailing a check. All checks must be be made out to "UNA-USA", postmarked and received by January 4. Late payment will result in an invalid registration form, and your school will not be considered registered to attend the conference or receive country assignments.  Paying via credit/debit card is highly recommended.

Also, confirm with your students that they can commit to attending the conference on May 15-17.  Please notify UNA-USA regarding any changes in the attendance of conference participants.

Country Assignments Posted and Invoices Sent Out

In addition to country assignments, which will be posted on our website, you will also receive an invoice regarding payment for the number of students and extra advisors as indicated on your registration form.

If your school is unable to fill the country assignment spot, notify UNA-USA as soon possible.  No refunds will be given out at this point.

 

Conference Preparation

During this time, students should be researching and preparing for the conference.

Advisors should discuss their particular concerns and address needs with students (i.e., appropriate attire to wear, Conference Code of Conduct, guidelines for performance, etc.)

Begin processing the necessary forms at your school to request payment of delegate and chaperone fees!  Please note that there will be a $50 penalty fee for all payments received after the due date of April 1!

Deadline for All Delegate and Extra Advisor Fees to be Submitted

By April 1, all payment must be received from schools.
Late payment will result in a $50 PENALTY FEE

Please be aware that because of security regulations at the United Nations, any adults not listed as part of the official school delegation and accounted for on the invoice will NOT be given a security badge and will not be permitted to enter the UN.  No exceptions will be made to this rule.

Positions Papers
All position papers should have been submitted by this date. For information regarding the position paper submission process, please click here.

Video & Photography Release Forms Due
Collect a signed Video and Photography Release Form from each of your delegates.

Delegation Confirmation Forms
Each school will have to submit one delegation confirmation form no later than April 14.  This form will be emailed to all registered schools in the early spring.

Advisors should also use this time to review Global Classrooms Model UN Conference policies and procedures with your students.

Research the country, committee, and topic you have been assigned.

Country assignments will be posted online on January 17, 2008.  As soon as you are given your country assignment, you should read the background guides supplied for each topic, and begin researching your country, topics, and the structure of the committee you will be simulating.

Submit Position Papers by April 14.
Position papers are due no later than April 14.
