WEST MOUNTAIN ROAD BIKING

Meet at Tanglewood Main Gate from there we will ride on Under Mountain Road and transition onto West Mountain Road. Once on that road we will continue until we reach Arizona Pizza which is located on West Mountain Road and we will have lunch there. A minimum of $ 3.00 is required. Mountain bikes and helmets are required.

ROARING BROOK ROAD BIKING & TORY CAVE HIKE

Meet at the schools bike rack after school. From there the club will ride the back roads of Roaring Brook Road all the way to St. Helena’s Chapel. On the way to the church we will stop at a famous cave called Tory Cave. After that we will ride to St. Helena’s Chapel on New Lenox Road where parents will pick up their students.

ROARING BROOK ROAD TOWN CLEAN CLEAN UP

Meet at a house on Roaring Brook Road that will be in the permission slips. From there we will walk along side Roaring Brook Road with trash bags picking up trash. When we are finished we should end up at the Woods Pond Foot Bridge in Lenox Dale on Silver Street. Pick up will also be at the Woods Pond Foot Bridge. Pizza is provided for everyone at the end of the trip. This trip is a town event done on a town clean up day.

HOUSATONIC RIVER CANOE OR KAYAK TRIP

Meet at Decker’s launching pad on New Lenox Road. From there we will canoe down the river and look at the beautiful nature and paddle to Woods Pond where pick up will be. If you are interested in bringing your own watercraft, please let one of the three staff know. Also please bring your own life vest if you have one. There are two kayaks that are available for students to use. To borrow one for the trip please email or see Dan Lane.

KENNEDY PARK DOG WALK

Meet at the Kennedy Park Parking lot on West Dougway Road. Students will start from the parking lot and hike up to a spot that over looks Richmond. Then students will take a short break. After that we will hike back to the parking lot on West Dougway Road. This is a trip where you may bring your own dog. If you bring your own dog it must be leashed at all times, must be friendly with people, and must get along with all other dogs.

OCTOBER MOUNTAIN FALL HIKE

Meet at the trail head on Roaring Brook Road. Students will hike from there up to a camp fire pit. Once we reach the camp fire pit we will start a little camp fire and roast hotdogs and marshmallows. On this trip students will learn how to build a fire and keep it going. They will also learn the safety tips of fire. This trip is basically to get you prepared for the camping trip at the end of the school year. Students will put the fire out then we will hike back to the trail head on Roaring Brook Road where parents will pick up their Students. $ 3.00 is required to pay for lunch. Hot Dogs and Marshmallows will be roasted.

OCTOBER MOUNTAIN FELTON POND HIKE

Meet at Woods Pond in Lenox Dale. From their the group will walk about a 1 ½ mile down Roaring Brook Road. Then the group will then hike up a trail which will lead us to Felton Pond. Once the group gets to Felton Pond, the group will then start a camp fire and roast marshmallows and hotdogs. $ 3.00 is required to pay for lunch.
