Seventh Grade Mural
The seventh grade students were introduced to the work of several successful mural artists, such as Diego Rivera, Ben Shahn, the Berkshire Artisans, and Michaelangelo. They recognized that murals have been an effective way of communicating personal opinions, illustrating history, or even advertising.
The first quarter students felt the need to respond to the tragedies of September 11th by creating a mural for all of the community to see. They created a grand, quilt-like mural that addressed the worry, fear, aid, history, and commemoration of all those involved.
