Sixth Grade Portfolios

The sixth grade students created their own portfolios while thinking up patterns and designs that are relevant to their own personality. They used complimentary and analagouse color schemes so that their name and patterns wouldn't blend together.

Complimentary colors are those colors across from one another on the color wheel. The three most common pairs are green & red, orange & blue, and purple & yellow. When complimentary colors are next to one another they give the appearance of vibrating; they are often used when creating optical illusions.

Analogous colors are those colors next to one another on the color wheel. Often they are thought of
as warm colors (red, orange, and yellow) or cool colors (blue, purple and green). They are associated with being calming or soothing color schemes.
