JUNIORS
Your junior year is a year of examining the
educational opportunities that are available to you. Please feel free to stop into guidance at any
time to ask questions or to look through our college and university catalogs.
The following is the recommended guideline for juniors
who are planning on attending colleges.
Late September/Early October: Register for the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT).
This year the testing date
is October 17, 2009, here at the LMMHS.
*Sign up sheet located in
the Guidance Department.
*$20.00 fee – must be
prepaid (cash or checks made payable to LMMHS)
*7:30 AM - 11:45 AM please bring 2 #2
pencils and a calculator.
During the late winter and early spring months, we will be holding an
SAT preparation course. The dates and times will be posted in our LMMHS
BULLETIN. The fee for the sessions will
be $150.00 for Lenox High School Students and $350.00 for
non-Lenox students. These
sessions usually run once a week for 6-8 weeks.
******This years dates will be posted
shortly. They will be held on Thursday
evenings and we typically run two sessions:
one beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the other at 7:30 p.m.******
The SAT course ends in time
for the May 1st or the June 5th SAT test
administration. You must register for
the May test no later March 25th or April 29th for the June test in
order to avoid an extra charge. Please
feel free to stop into our Guidance Office and pick up an SAT registration
booklet and a sample test, or register on-line.
The following is the SAT testing dates and registration deadlines for
2009-2010 school year:
Important Information for All Test-Takers
·
Sunday administrations
usually occur the day after each Saturday test date, for students who cannot
test on Saturday due to religious observance. For the test administration on
October 10, the Sunday test date has been moved to October 18 to avoid conflict
with the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah.

The Language Tests
with Listening are offered only in November.

The Question-and-Answer
Service (QAS) is offered only on the Saturday test dates in October and
January, and for Saturday, Sunday, and school-based testing dates in May.

The Student
Answer Service (SAS) is available only on the test dates for which QAS is
not offered—those in November, December, March, and June. It is also available
for Sunday and school-based testing dates in October and January.
