MIDDLE SCHOOL / HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

The Lenox Public Schools is seeking an outstanding educational leader to become principal of Lenox Memorial Middle and High School effective October 2008.  The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong knowledge of current middle and secondary education curriculum and instructional practices, and have the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff and parents.  Candidates must hold a master’s degree in School Administration or related field and be certified or certifiable as a Massachusetts Secondary Principal.

Lenox Memorial Middle and High School serves 450 students in grades 6 – 12.  Located in the southern Berkshires of western Massachusetts, LMMHS has earned a reputation of excellence as a result of the work of a skilled and committed faculty, strong student performance and academic achievement, and the support of an involved and invested community.

Biology (full-time):  must have ability to teach regular and honors biology courses and familiarity with SAT II Biology Test.  Position requires a strong background in Biology, teacher certification, and a strong commitment to academic excellence for all students. Prefer candidates with a master degree or higher in Biology, well developed technology skills, and knowledge of Massachusetts curriculum frame works. 

Middle School English Language Arts (full-time):  strong academic background in Language Arts and Middle School education.  Must hold or be eligible for Massachusetts certification in English. Prefer candidates with successful teaching experience and the ability to work with wide range of students.  Interest in program development essential along with ability to develop rapport with colleagues, parents and students.  Ability to work with grade 6 teaching team essential.
