Preschool Programs
The Special Needs Department operates two half-day Preschool programs at the Morris School for children ages three and four. Both programs are integrated; that is, they serve both children who have been identified as having special needs as well as "typical" peer role models. Children identified as having special needs are guaranteed service; there are a limited number of openings available for typical peers each year. LENOX PUBLIC SCHOOLS The Lenox Public Schools offer preschool screening for three and four-year-old children who will not be entering kindergarten in September 2010. The purpose of the screening is to identify children who may have substantial needs in speech/language, cognitive, emotional/social or physical development. An orientation meeting will be held at Morris Elementary School on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. Screening will take place March 30 and 31, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Morris School. Appointments are required and can be made through the Student Services Office beginning March 8, 2010, at 413-637-5571. The orientation will provide parents with an opportunity to meet the screening team who will give an overview of the screening process, and the integrated preschool program at Morris Elementary School.
