Biome Activity
You and your team have been chosen by a conservation agency to become experts about a particular biome. Your mission is to research and make a virtual tour (powerpoint) of your biome. This presentation will show government officials (and your fellow classmates) what your biome is like and how important your biome is to Earth.
The biomes that your team should research include the following.......
The best way to do this is to research the information first, write it down in your notebook, then make a powerpoint. There are useful links at the bottom of the page.
Your powerpoint should begin with a world map showing the different biomes of the world. Be sure to mention which colors refer to your biomes.
You should also include a definition for the word biome. Use your book if you like.
After this, you should do a section for the desert, and the 2 forests.
Each biome should include a Title page, then individual pages that shares the following info.
1. Title page- there will be one of these for each biome. Be sure to say what the biome is and what that biome is like.
2) Climate information including...
Average annual temperature
Temperature range
Average annual precipitation
3) Adaptations to the climate. Pick 2 plants and 2 animals and describe any adaptations they have that help them survive in that particular climate. Be sure to have pictures of each.
4) Three interesting facts about your biome
So you should have at least 12 slides when finished. You do not need to add sounds and animations as that takes extra time. You can add these if you want, but the project needs to be completed by the end of class on Monday. I'm hoping that some of you finish on Friday.
